Thermal Limits

36"X18", acrylic on canvas
Just turned in my piece for the upcoming exhibit at the Lightcatcher (Whatcom Museum). The exhibit is an open call to Whatcom County artists to respond to the topic of Climate Change.

My work is inspired by the significant of salmon as a keystone species in the Pacific Northwest. Although a bit cliché, pacific salmon are intricately connected within our ecosystems being affected by climate change. The decline of these organisms provide tangible evidence of the alteration occurring at many scales as the result of climate change and anthropogenic impacts.

The exhibit opens at the Lightcather on July 5 (free from 6-10 on Art Walk night) and continues through September 14th.
