Wildthings!

I have the honor of having my first larger showing in Ajo, AZ at a hidden jewel of a gallery of the Copper News. This charming gallery is tucked into the Copper News store located at 10 W Pajaro St., Ajo, AZ. The show opening is February 18th from 4 till 6. The show will be up February through April.

This show will be a unique one for me as it will include my paintings and at the request of the Copper News my photographs. I DO NOT consider myself a photographer, but I take lots of photos chronicling my adventures and finds outdoors. These photos are the fuel for my painting ideas. It will be fun to show the two together. If you are in the Ajo area come by and take a peak.

Desert Red!

Each Spring our winter home town of Ajo, AZ holds a "Red" show in celebration of the coming of Spring and the romance of Valentines Day. This piece is part of the 2023 Red Show.

Red is such a powerful color that is part of the Sonoran Desert palate with Ocotillo putting on a show with its red plumes. The Phainopepla is more subtle with its black plumage, but look carefully at its glowing red eyes!

Where to find my art

Many have asked where might I find my art? Since the pandemic started I have to admit I have been a bit more reclusive in showing my works. However, I am stepping up my game and getting back to "normal". Right now you can find my work (cards and original art works) in a few different places.

In the Pacific Northwest I have work at:

The Wild Bird Chalet in Bellingham, WA

A New Leaf Florist Shoppe in Bellingham, WA

A Lot of Flowers in Fairhaven, WA

In Arizona I have cards at:

The Sonoran Desert Inn and Conference Center Gift Shop

The Copper Javelina Glass Art Studio and Gift Shop

These wonderful vendors have been amazing in their support of local artists. I hope you get a chance to visit them. If you can't get to the wonderful places you can also find my work in my Etsy Shop SalnoranStudios. I try to keep it stocked with original works as well as cards. If you don't see something in the shop but it is on the website and not indicated as sold - drop me a line and I'm sure we can connect you up.

If you are a vendor and interested in carrying any of my works drop me a line. I would love to hear from you.

Python Patterns

Stepping away from my more familiar avian art I had some fun with some herptefaunal forms.

This piece is inspired by a friends Reticulated Pythons.  I took some liberty with the colors and designs,  but this species is so variable there must be a doppelganger out there somewhere.  8"x10" acrylic and metal leaf on wood panel.

Riding The Wind

Riding The Wind. 16"x20" acrylic on canvas.

I am a lover of Corvids (not to be confused by covid)! This piece is a revisit of a similar raven I did for a commission a few years ago. I enjoyed it so much I thought I would do another. Let me know if you would like him in your house!
