Tadpole Sculpin

Tadpole Sculpin, 8"x8" mixed media

I have a very good friend who tirelessly gives his time volunteering for many important projects that further our understanding of the natural world. He works with me on amphibians, but also works on a nearshore project where they sample for forage fish populations. He ran across this uncommon sculpin species and what tickled him was that it represented the best of both his volunteer worlds of fish and frogs. This small fish is called and Tadpole Sculpin and blends wonderfully into the background of its rocky world. Very little is known about this fish species and Chris considered it an honor to see one in person. This mixed media piece celebrates this wondrous little creature. Profits from this piece would go entirely to the Whatcom County Amphibian Monitoring Project, it is $90.00 if anyone is interested in adopting this little fish.
