Collaboration

I recently had the wonderful experience of collaborating on a piece with my artist sister Lyn Jackson. We were part of the annual Allied Arts Art Door Throw Down. We had 2 hours to paint a full sized door, start to finish. It was a blast. We came in with a design and a door primed black. We quickly got the design onto the door and then got hard to work. Lyn is a master with collage and took on getting the foliage on using hand made papers. I was in charge of painting the birds. There was live Jazz and lots of people. I was very nervous going into it, but it was such a rush I would to it again in a moment. At the end the doors were auctioned off as a fundraiser for Allied Arts. We had to say goodbye to ours, but the memories will last.
