I have been having fun with linoleum block printing. This involves creating a design and overlaying it onto a block of linoleum. Sharp cutting tools are used to create a relief block of the design. After the block is complete, printing ink is applied to the block and pressed against the paper. The results always thrill me! The image I have posted will be used as the logo for an upcoming conference for the Society of Wetland Scientists. The image is of Fairy Shrimp, which are incredible little critters that live in temporary wetlands. Very fun!!!
