It's time for the annual Whatcom Artist Studio Tour and for the first time, I will be an artist on the Tour!

I have enjoyed the Tour for many years as a visitor; meeting artists where they create their work. Now, I will be greeting guests into my studio for the first time. I am excited see you all! I am Studio #27 on the tour.

The Tour runs during the first two weekends in October between 10 am and 5 pm each day (note my studio will be closed between 2 pm and 4 pm on Oct 12th for a memorial).

You can pick up Tour Brochures with a map of studios at businesses throughout Whatcom County or download one here: WAST Brochure

Shelter

Shelter.  11"x14". Acrylic and metal leaf on wood panel.

Using spider webs adorned with lichens, Hummingbird nests cling to precarious small branches. They blend so amazingly well in their soft camouflage.  This piece is titled Shelter and recreates my memories of coming across these tiny nests, often clinging to cedar branches.

New piece- Have A Berry

Have A Berry! 12"x19" Acrylic and metal leaf on re-purposed wood panel.

On my summer walks around our local wetlands Cedar Waxwings are always present and busy feeding on fruit and insects. I love their gentle, subtle coloration with a tiny bling of red on their wings (can tou find it?).  This piece will be available to view in my studio during the Whatcom County Artist Studio Tour during the first two weekends of October.
