A good friend of mine is a Land Steward for the Whatcom Land Trust. This wonderful, local organization has protected amazing tracts of important lands for wildlife habitat. My friend was out doing her wonderful volunteer work and came across a nice herd of Elk on one of the properties in the South Fork of the Nooksack Valley. She sent many photos. I was inspired by her enthusiasm and Doodled an Elk.
